Level 33 - The Raid has Broken Us

So its Avery, Cam and DJ in the saddle and predictably we talk some Destiny, but to Avery's shock but Cam and DJ tried out some new games. Cam hopped into the old game is old FF9 and DJ played some game or other, but back to Destiny we tried the Raid last week and it didn't take. In gaming news the trio more Destiny Content, an updated PSVR headset, Street Fighter V's Arcade Edition, Overwatch returning holiday event and Avery continues to lament his fading interest in Assassin's creed. 

Level 32 - Destiny Battle Royale

With Marcus and Cameron MIA, DJ and Avery stalwartly continue to steer the good ship Press X. As usual Destiny dominates the conversation of What We Are Playing but DJ throws a curve ball giving the PUBG Clone Fortnite Battle Royale a try and PUBG may have some competition for its Chicken Dinner adorned crown. In news Rockstar drops some Red Dead news and to be honest reception is mixed, Avery laments the unfortunately layoffs in the wake of Agents of Mayhem and Ubisoft continues to fight a good fight in keeping Vivendi from taking over the company. In other news we talk Battlegrounds, its future on consoles specifically Playstation, the new studio PUBG Corp and its eventually competition. Finally in an update of the Pewdiepie nonsense of week’s path Nintendo rolls out a controversial new streaming program. Finally in our Culture segment the duo discuss the impact of social media in the video game landscape and its role with professionalism as a fan of video games.

Level 31 - Playstation Via Tokyo

Cam has ventured on a Disney Vacation Sabatical, leaving Avery, DJ and Marcus to mind the store. Destiny still dominates the conversations and Marcus remains just a pretty face as Avery and DJ continue their love and hate relationship with the AAA juggernaut. In news we got some touching Nintendo news, a first dissapointing glimpse of the new Tomb Raider film, an interesting look at the the new Fortnite Battle Royale and the brewing hubub with PUBG also the Tokyo Game Show. Also we bring back Who Am I and DJ joins the Cameron Williams memorial L wall of shame.

Level 30 - To Quote Marcus "F**K Pewdiepie"

We're back and off the bat is more Destiny talk, Marcus tries to brings something new to the table by talking about the Hellblade ingame making of but what are we playing is mostlly just Destiny talk. In news, Epic beaats all other studios to the market with their own PUBG clone in Fortnite, Nintendo had a direct that no one watched but Avery and Overwatch deals with the toxicity brewing within their community. We end this episode with a long discussion about Pewdiepie his most recent fuck up and our general reactions to the cult of personality that defend him. I'm going to be honest we're four black dudes, so i'm going to just let you guess how we all generally feel about this matter.

Level 28 - Avery Played A Bunch of Games

Avery returns to the podcast and brings with him a plethora of games to talk about. The other guys also played games, but let's be honest nothing of real consequence. Am i right folks?......(cough)...... Anyway Avery played and beat Uncharted the Last Legacy and has nothing but great things to say about it. He also played Mario+Rabbids and while the Rabbids did everything they could to destroy his enjoyment of this game Avery has nothing but praise. In a hefty news segment that eats up the rest of the show, the group discuss Games with Gold and Playstation Plus, the Crystal Dualshock PS4 controllers and DJ's annoyance with Sony's design sensibilities. Avery and Marcus get hyped for the next No More Heroes and Marcus loses his mind for Street Fighter's new character Menat. PSVR gets a price drop, raising insteresting questions for the future of VR, and the group throws down about Shadow of War's tribute to a fallen producer and trust me it was a pretty divisive converstation.

Level 26 - Agents of Overcooked

Cam's back in the driving seat for another episode of Press X to Start and the gang's all here. Cam really hates the Assassin's Creed Spin-Off Freedom Cry, Marcus has fallen back into Overwatch habits, Avery is really enjoying the style of Agents of MAYHEM and opines starting the group down the dark path that was Overcooked. DJ's signifigant other or better half depending on your parlance Sheriene joins us to talk about how infuriatingly fun the 4-player local co-op game is and DJ rounds everything out with old but new to switch game Ironclad. In news the delay of Crackdown frustrates Avery as Microsoft continues to act like they don't have a first party problem, Marcus "The TellTale apologist" argues the semantics of whether the new Planet of the Apes game is a game and Avery attempts and fails to make the new PSN update seem interesting. As Always the group ends things with a rounding game of Who Am I, where the question is asked will Cameron get on the board this time.
